All things "Techie"

It's hard to believe that we are truly in our second week of school.  Where did summer go?

This summer was amazing for technology inspiration.  I attended two different workshops and came away with so much usable information that I feel like I'm on brain overload.  Seriously!!

What's even more...one company was highlighted - Buncee.  It is a really great digital tool.  I love how user friendly it is for any age.  It has so many features.  It can be used to create a lesson or something as simple as a birthday card.

The team at Buncee are incredible to work with.  They have one of the most amazing digital tools of 2015 and I am so excited to be bringing it to my classroom to share with my kiddos.

Where has time gone?  I can't believe it is the week of Thanksgiving.

There are so many things to be thankful for.  I, personally am thankful for my faith, my family, and my health.   Take some time this Thanksgiving to spend time with the ones you love.  Enjoy those moments and make everlasting memories.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Character Traits with Chrysanthemum

We are working on character traits in Reading.  I chose the book Chrysanthemum to show all the character traits that she has during this story.

After I read the story to my kiddos, we talked about character traits.  First, I used myself as the character for my kiddos to list as many character traits as they could come up with.  It was a learning moment for us all.  Next, we listed all the character traits for Chrysanthemum.  Then, my class had to create a flower with all the petals being a character trait for Chrysanthemum.  They also had to complete a sentence and explain how they knew that Chrysanthemum had that character trait.    It was a great day for learning!!

Today is Veteran's Day and we got together with our 5th grade friends for a fun activity.

We talked about the importance of celebrating Veteran's Day and all of the veterans that were/are a part of keeping us safe.  We used the word Veteran and made an acrostic poem.  We used words that described veterans.  It was a great moment for us all.

Reading With Our 5th Grade Buddies

It has been such a busy week here at school.  However, we somehow found the time to buddy up with Ms. Penner's fifth grade to practice our reading.  The weather is amazing for the end of October, so we took advantage of it and headed outside.  Nothing better than reading outside with a friend.

The fifth graders were so much fun to watch as they listened, helped, and encouraged the third graders.  We are all eager to read with them again.

Pumpkin Decorating

Today my students decorated mini pumpkins.  They were able to be super creative.  Some had traditional jack-o-lantern faces, while others were sporting sweet or scary faces.  It was such a fun afternoon in our class.
