Character Traits with Chrysanthemum

We are working on character traits in Reading.  I chose the book Chrysanthemum to show all the character traits that she has during this story.

After I read the story to my kiddos, we talked about character traits.  First, I used myself as the character for my kiddos to list as many character traits as they could come up with.  It was a learning moment for us all.  Next, we listed all the character traits for Chrysanthemum.  Then, my class had to create a flower with all the petals being a character trait for Chrysanthemum.  They also had to complete a sentence and explain how they knew that Chrysanthemum had that character trait.    It was a great day for learning!!
